Looking for Aitch?

Aitch (aka Helen Sandler) is a writer and performer, comedian and compere, based in Mid Wales. She’s recently performed at Fem de la Femme at the Liverpool Everyman, Queer Diary at the Edinburgh Fringe, and Machynlleth Pride. Aitch is co-programmer and regular compere at Aberration, the popular long-running LGBTQ+ arts night in Aberystwyth. Available to gig to friendly audiences just about anywhere, especially at LGBTQ+ events and women’s nights.

Aitch is also half of Queer Tales from Wales – bringing to life some surprising characters from Welsh history, researched by her partner Jane Hoy. In the past Aitch has run community arts projects from festivals to creative writing workshops; published her poetry and novels; worked on the editorial team at both Diva Books and Diva magazine; and run Tollington Press, which published 25 books by women and non-binary people before taking a pause in 2025.
